Camp Pokonokah Hills staff is heading south from the northwoods to bring a taste of resident camp to you. During this 3-day day camp, you will participate in some of the same activities that girls attending “Pokie” do, but right here in Illinois. You will choose from activities such as arts & crafts, nature exploration, games, sports, fire building, outdoor cooking, and for Junior Girl Scouts, archery. *FEE INCLUDES LUNCH ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. Pack up your sleeping bag and head out to Jellystone Park in Amboy for three days of fun in the sun! Choose from swimming, mini-golfing, hayrides, crafts and more! Plus, spend two nights under the stars in tents.

Are you ready for an adventure? Program includes an afternoon white water rafting trip down the Peshtigo River. The rafts are single-person rafts and all participants are provided with an approved life jacket, helmet, paddle, safety orientation. The adventure includes preparing your own meals over the campfire and sleeping in tens you pitch. Additional program activities are being planned and will include hiking and ONE of the following: a half-day lake kayaking trip, a lazy-river ride, or a high ropes course. SWIM PREREQUISITES: Please note that camper must be able to tread water for 3 minutes and swim a distance of 50 yards. For their own safety, if guides determine a participant is not confident with the raft, the participant will be taken off the river and transported back to the campground. Adult supervision will be provided. STAFF: Girls will be accompanied on this trip by three camp counselors, including staff with EMT and lifeguard training. These staff members will be providing the transportation.

Are you an experienced horseback rider? Put your skills to use as you learn about appropriate gear, how to care for your horse and tack on the trail as you prepare for a trail ride that has you camping out on the trail. Enjoy a cook-out and campfire with s'mores as you pitch a tent & sleep under the stars! Participants will be staying at Camp Pokonokah Hills; however, this is a trip where participants will be preparing their own meals. Additional activities at camp will be available and supervised by the counselors accompanying the trip. STAFF: Girls will be accompanied on this trip by three camp-counselors including staff with EMT and lifeguard training. These staff members will be providing the transportation.

We can’t tell you where you’re going but we can tell you to be ready for a day ofexploring Chicago. You’ll view it, do it, taste it and walk it. You may not know whereyou’re going but it’s sure to be fun. So grab a friend or two and be ready for a great time! *TRAVEL BY BUS FROM GIRL SCOUT CENTER, LEAVE 9 A.M. RETURNS 5 P.M.
