In October 2008, Girl Scouts of the USA launched some exciting program changes.

Age-level definitions, effective October 1, 2008:
            Girl Scout Daisy, Grades K-1
            Girl Scout Brownie, Grades 2-3
            Girl Scout Junior, Grades 4-5
            Girl Scout Cadette, Grades 6-8
            Girl Scout Senior, Grades 9-10
            Girl Scout Ambassador, Grades 11-12

The Girl Scout uniform were modified to reflect the choices of today's girls:
            Each level has one official uniform item for the
            display of official pins and awards (vest/sash).

            Girls can use their own solid white shirts and
             khaki pants or skirts with their official uniform
             item.
           
            Girl Scouts at the Daisy and Brownie levels
            continue to have a full uniform ensemble
            available.
           
            Girl Scouts in high school also have an optional
            scarf, uniting them in the international WAGGGS
            tradition.
