When Juliette Gordon Low founded the Girl Scout movement in 1912, she called
her cousin to volunteer, saying "Come right over, I've got something for the
girls of Savannah and all America and all the world!"
Sybaquay Council is joining Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scout councils
nationwide in renewing our commitment to Juliette's vision. It is our goal to
give every girl everywhere the opportunity to be a Girl Scout. To make this
happen, we need adult volunteers, women and men, who are interested in helping
today's girls become tomorrow's leaders.
Girl Scouting has rewarding and flexible volunteer opportunities for both men
and women, from age 18 to infinity! You don't have to be a parent to volunteer -
we have aunts and uncles, grandparents, and older siblings who volunteer.
Why volunteer?
Partnership with Girl Scouts - Sybaquay Council is a win-win-win
situation. Girls win because of what they will learn through your
leadership. As a leader you have a direct influence on their development - you
can help them develop the courage to try new things, the confidence to handle the pressures of life, and the character to want to make the world a better place. You're
providing them a safe place to be themselves and connect with other girls. You
will win because of the relationships and friendships you will develop and the
new skills you will learn. As a volunteer you help girls be the best that they
can be - and that feels great! We at Girl Scouts - Sybaquay Council win because
you're helping us to serve girls. Without our almost 3,000 volunteers, we'd be
hard-pressed to deliver on our mission of building girls
of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a
better place!
There are many ways to volunteer - flexibility is the key!
